LPT: Highlight good contributors to your community if you want "growth" on digg

Some of these things you can't really do like having flairs, pinning posts. But we'll get them eventually. But small things like shoutouts, talking about them in the about or community guidelines can work Personally I've been trying various things, but I think what I'm going to

LPT: To grow a community, focus on recruiting consistent content creators instead of members in the early days

Stolen from r/modhelp, the key thing they recommend is to get creators(more important than members). This makes a sub feel alive and naturally your communities will grow if people are posting consistently

LPT: At work, if someone gives you vague or emotionally charged criticism, ask them to document it instead of defending yourself

Most people don't bother because they're there to vent not to help. If they do send an email, there's a record you can reference and address. If they don't you can send an follow up with "since i haven't recieved your notes I assume the issue has been resolved".

LPT: Generally, a car is unaffordable to you if you have to finance it.

Obviously apply all caveats and understand that this is a generality. According to pretty much all personal finance wisdom, if you don’t have the cash to pay out for the entire cost of the car, it’s not affordable to you. But if I can get a lower interest rate then it’s bet

LPT: Set up Google alerts for your full name

It lets you know when new content mentioning you appears online, especially anything negative. It's a minor thing but alerts take a couple minutes to set up and give you a chance to respond early before something bad sits on Google for months and a recruiter or clients finds out

LPT: If you have a rarely used tub or floor drain, pour water down it every few months

Drains have a p-trap that holds water to block sewer gases. When a drain isn’t used, that water can evaporate and let sewage smells into the room. A quick pour of around a litre of water every couple of months is often enough to prevent things from smelling terribly
