ID Polo: Give Me More Tactile Buttons
Volkswagen has unveiled the interior of its upcoming electric ID Polo, emphasizing a return to physical controls. The new model, set to launch in 2026 for €25,000, features physical buttons, a rotary volume knob, and a 435-liter trunk, aiming to provide a more intuitive and less distracting driving experience.
Driving a 2012 .:R as a daily means that, at night, when I’m in the driver seat of what feels like a spaceship, I’m too often taking my eyes off the road to read a screen.
Maybe this means need to embrace voice controls. Maybe this means I need to not busy-box with the audio as I drive.
But I really, really wish we’d get a more physical interfaces in our future cars.
