Aztec mural designed to protect San Jose firefighters - San José Spotlight

An East San Jose artist, Jesse Hernandez, has created two metal murals featuring Tlaloc, the Aztec rain god, for the exterior of the new Fire Station 8. The murals, funded by Measure T, aim to honor indigenous heritage and protect the firefighters. The station, replacing the old one after 75 years, includes a fueling station and infrastructure for electric fire engines.
