Do you plan your Minecraft builds on paper or directly in-game?

I usually jump straight into building, but on bigger projects it sometimes leads to a lot of rework and wasted blocks.

I’m curious how others approach this. Do you sketch layouts, use reference grids, or just experiment directly in the world?
