In the 1980s, McDonald's introduced the McDLT, a unique build-your-own burger that was served in a two-chambered Styrofoam container. The McDLT, which included traditional burger ingredients like a bun, beef patty, mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomato, was meant to be McDonald's answer to Burger King's Whopper.
