President Donald Trump is commenting on the NYSE Texas move today, January 19, 2026, primarily to criticize New York City's leadership. Despite the move being established in 2025.

The NYSE is establishing a fully electronic exchange in Dallas, called NYSE Texas, by reincorporating its existing NYSE Chicago branch; the main New York operations are not moving. The new Dallas headquarters began operations in March 2025.

This move is part of a larger trend, as the new independent Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) is also planning to launch trading in Dallas in early 2026.
