Welcome to the shop
Pull up a workbench, grab your favorite beverage, and settle in—you’ve found your people.
Whether you’re rocking a fully kitted-out shop with more clamps than you’ll ever admit to owning, or you’re making magic happen in a corner of your apartment with three hand tools and sheer determination, you belong here.
What’s This Place All About?
We’re a community of sawdust-covered creators who believe that woodworking is for everyone. First-time scrollsawer? Welcome. Fifth-generation furniture maker? Pull up a chair (preferably one you built yourself). Somewhere in between? Perfect.
We’re here to learn from each other, celebrate wins, troubleshoot disasters, and occasionally argue about whether you really need that new tool. (You do. Treat yourself.)
What Should You Post?
Basically anything that makes you excited about wood.
Projects — Finished pieces, works in progress, glorious successes, and spectacular failures. We love them all. Bonus points for sharing what you learned along the way.
Your Workshop — Fancy or scrappy, huge or tiny, show us where the magic happens. Shop tours are always a hit.
Plans & Techniques — Got a clever jig? Figured out a tricky joint? Discovered a finishing trick that changed your life? Share the knowledge.
Tips & Tricks — Those little “aha!” moments that make the craft easier. Someone out there needs to hear exactly what you figured out.
Questions — Stuck on something? Ask away. No question is too basic. We’ve all been there, and helping each other is what we’re here for.
Tool Talk — Reviews, recommendations, restoration projects, or just showing off that sweet vintage handplane you scored. We get it.
A Few Things We Believe
Sawdust is universal. It doesn’t matter if you’re working with reclaimed pallets or high-end hardwoods—if you’re making something, you’re one of us.
There’s no “right” way. Hand tools, power tools, CNC, hybrid approaches—all valid. The best method is the one that works for you.
Mistakes are lessons in disguise. Some of the best posts here are the ones where things went sideways. We learn more from “here’s what NOT to do” than from perfection.
Everyone starts somewhere. Today’s master was yesterday’s beginner. Be kind, be encouraging, and remember your first wobbly dovetail.
Ready to Jump In?
Don’t be shy! Introduce yourself, share what you’re working on, or just say hey. We’re glad you’re here.
Now get off the internet and go make some sawdust. Then come back and show us what you made.
Welcome to the community. Let’s build something great together.
