Nuclear bunker crashes into beach below in Tunstall after succumbing to coastal erosion
A Cold War-era nuclear bunker in Tunstall, East Yorkshire, collapsed into the beach after 70 years due to coastal erosion. The Tunstall ROC (Royal Observer Corps) Post, which had been a monitoring post for nuclear war, was captured in images and footage teetering on the eroding cliff before its fall. The bunker appears relatively intact despite the crash, and the Environment Agency reports that the area has some of the fastest eroding coastline in the UK.
Now this nuclear bunker is at the mercy of the sea after finally crashing into the beach below in Tunstall, East Yorkshire.
