The World's First EV Solid State Battery Holds Almost Double The Charge Of Some Tesla EVs
Donut Lab has unveiled the world's first solid-state EV battery with a 400 wh/kg energy density, more than double that of some Tesla vehicles. This new battery offers greater durability, faster charging times, more energy density, better safety, and lower-cost production. It can charge to full in five minutes and last for up to 100,000 charging cycles, significantly outlasting conventional lithium-ion batteries. This solid-state battery is safer due to the absence of flammable liquid electrolytes, metallic dendrites, and thermal runaway chains. It is also designed to maintain up to 99% of its capacity in extreme temperatures and can be fully discharged repeatedly without serious degradation.
