Google is rolling out a new feature that allows users to change their @gmail.com email address associated with their Google Account to a new @gmail.com address. This feature addresses a common pain point for users who regret their original username choice but didn’t want to abandon years of emails, photos, and data. The change process involves a step-by-step guide, including backing up data, updating linked accounts, and ensuring the new username is unused. After the change, the old address becomes an alternate email, and all account data remains untouched. However, users must wait 12 months before creating another new @gmail.com address or deleting the fresh one.
