Brave overhauls adblock engine, cutting its memory consumption by 75% | Brave

Brave has overhauled its Rust-based adblock engine, reducing memory consumption by 75% and improving battery life and multitasking. This upgrade saves 45+ MB of memory by default and scales higher for users with additional adblocking lists enabled. These performance improvements are now available in Brave v1.85, with more optimizations coming in v1.86.
