This Flexible OLED Screen Stays Bright Even When Stretched

This article discusses a new ultra-stretchy OLED developed by an international research team led by scientists at Seoul National University and Drexel University. The OLED combines a flexible phosphorescent polymer layer with transparent electrodes made from MXene nanomaterial, allowing it to stretch up to 1.6 times its original length while maintaining most of its brightness. The OLED's design addresses a longstanding challenge in flexible OLED technology by preserving luminescence after repeated mechanical flexion. The OLED's potential applications include glowing, wearable displays and real-time health sensors.
