The Trump administration has admitted in a federal court filing that employees of Elon Musk’s cost-cutting operation, known as Doge, accessed and improperly shared Americans’ sensitive social security data. This revelation comes after months of denials and follows a lawsuit filed in February by unions and an advocacy group attempting to block Doge from accessing social security data. The Social Security Administration (SSA) has referred two potential violations of the Hatch Act to the Office of Special Counsel for investigation.
