Mother over for the holidays

My Mother stayed over the holidays.
It always seems like a good idea....maybe out of pity or guilt.
It was a reminder that it always requires more energy than expected.
Each time I remember why it is becoming less and less.
None of that would matter if she could be more real, be nice, show some empathy.
