I Tried to Love Proton Mail, But Gave up After 3 Months

I paid for a full year in advance, I really wanted to love Proton Mail, but the Mac Desktop application is so buggy that it became impossible for me to use.

The privacy features initially drew me to Proton and before that I have been a longtime Fastmail user, and the ability to use IMAP to choose my mail client is now clearly more important to me than privacy.

The Desktop Proton Mail client would crash and freeze often, and when it did not, it was very slow to the point that I was questioning whether I had an internet connection.

Has anyone else experienced these Mac desktop client issues?

The iOS app worked fine, but the inability to swipe at the edge of an email to go back to the inbox annoyed me more than it should have.
