My home setup circa 2005-2009
I had this setup from 2005 to 2009 at home.
I hosted two websites (A tech site that was on digg's front page 4 times, and only stayed up once from all the traffic, and a forum for Deus Ex) , 1 video game server (Deus Ex), and would connect to my VPN to home from pretty much anywhere I went to access my file server.

This part was my home Cisco lab to learn IOS after my boss taught me the basics at a computer store I worked at when I was 16.
1) Cisco 2600 series (can't remember the exact model but I filled it with ram and flash upgrades).
2) 2X Catalyst 1900 series
3) Another Cisco 2600 series
4) Asus GigaX switch - This kinda sucked but was neat, needed windows software to manage it had no shell.
5) Lucent patch panel from e-waste recycler who I got the catalyst 1900s from.
6) Netgear 7212 12 port gigabit managed switch. (This was crazy expensive in 2005), had cisco IOS like shell.
7)Dell dual CPU Socket 604 sever (Ran windows server for lab stuff)
8) Custom build Dual CPU socket 604 server with tyan motherboard. I had 4GB of ram in this one initally but later gutted it for a AMD Phenom quad core with 16GB of ram and ran vmware ESX-i on it.
9) My firewall, depending on the year ran eithe r IPCOP, Microsoft ISA server, or Pfsense (2006).
dual 1.4ghz pentium 3 server 1GB of ram
10) My main server for the websites and experimentation
Sun Enterprise 220 R, I had two two fastest CPU's you could get, 8GB of ram, I think I had 2x 320GB SCSI drives 15,000RPM's.
This one was a beast I loved this one I wish I never sold it I had such fond memory's of it.
