Masa, 5, had been missing for almost 2 years. On Saturday, her family found her remains
After a two-year search, Mu’ayyad Ajjour and Mohamed Zaida found the remains of five-year-old Masa, Ajjour's cousin, under the rubble of a bombed building in Gaza City. The search, which began after a ceasefire in October, involved makeshift tools and daily efforts. Masa's remains, identified by a skull, a red earring, and a torn pink sweater, were finally found, allowing her family to give her a proper burial. The search highlighted the ongoing struggle to locate thousands of bodies still buried under rubble in Gaza, a consequence of the ongoing conflict.
