Northern Japan hit by strong earthquake again, tsunami advisory in effect
Northern Japan has been hit by a magnitude 6.7 earthquake near the Hokkaido and Tohoku regions, prompting the Japan Meteorological Agency to issue a tsunami advisory for the northern Pacific coast. This follows a magnitude 7.5 quake on Monday night, for which an 'Off the Coast of Hokkaido and Sanriku Subsequent Earthquake Advisory' was issued. Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture issued an evacuation order, urging coastal residents to move inland. Nuclear power plants in the area have reported no abnormalities.
