Moving is my middle name
I've been moving all my life it seems. I managed to stay in one high school four years and I did a bachelor degree at one university, but I was a co-op student so I moved every three months the whole way through. For a while, me and the Mrs. lived on a sailboat and we moved almost every day! And by the way, if you are looking for a really nice apartment that is something different, consider a small boat! We bought a sailboat from a guy back in the early 80's - just 24 feet long. But he'd been living on it for six years!
We have owned our house(s) for the last 15 years, and some before than (before sailing), but now we're downsizing to a one-bedroom apartment from our present abode which is technically five bedrooms (just two of us!). But we are going to make the move in one not-totally-full U-pack cube. The boat living made us accustomed to furniture that is built in or custom, so I made my own in the last couple of houses. It isn't pretty, but comfortable and practical. But we are moving from Puerto Rico to the US (Virginia most likely) in a couple of months or so and I think we'll just get some used "real" furniture for a change - at least for a year or so in apartments.
After that, we might settle down, or we might go van-stealth-camping for a while, or maybe get his and hers motorcycles and some light camping gear and just follow the seasons for a few years. We've been in the tropics for 35 years, so a return to the temperate zones might be too much of a cold-shock for us. Maybe each fall we could motor down to Belize for a few months and then bounce back up into the states for late spring and summer? idk.
