This article discusses the development of Full-Chain Membership Proofs (FCMPs) for Monero, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency. FCMPs aim to replace the existing ring system to enhance privacy and security by proving that an output spent is one of any output on the chain, increasing the anonymity set from 16 to 100,000,000. Two proposals have been made, one requiring Seraphis's new key/transaction format and another, FCMP++, which adds Spend Authorization + Linkability without needing Seraphis migration. FCMP++ introduces features like transaction chaining, outgoing view keys, and forward secrecy, aiming for faster deployment and optional migration to new key structures.
