Immersion-based learning methods.
Today, I'd like to cover a couple of immersion-based learning methods and get a discussion going around them. The main goal of immersion-based learning is to consume as much Japanese as possible, as soon as possible.
1. TheMoeWay
Specifically tailored to Japanese learners, TMW is heavily influenced by the AJATT (All Japanese, All the Time) methodology. Consuming native material not specifically geared towards beginners and learning Kanji through vocabulary in context are important factors. This method places emphasis on enjoying your immersion content. If you're not genuinely interested in what you're consuming, you won't stick with it for the thousands of hours of immersion that TMW requires.
2. Refold
Refold is also immersion-based, but it's actually a model that can be applied to any language. Refold is structured methodically in a way that you are guided through all stages of Japanese learning, from beginner to advanced. It provides detailed roadmaps and encourages learners to delay speaking and writing until they've build a solid foundation of input.
Is there an immersion-based method you had success with that I didn't cover here? Do you have experience with either of the above methods? Have you found success in learning Japanese without using an immersion-based method?
