California-born rock climber Alex Honnold successfully reached the top of the Taipei 101 skyscraper without using ropes or protective equipment. The free solo climb, which was broadcast live on Netflix, took him about 90 minutes to complete the 1,667-foot tower. Honnold, known for his ropeless ascent of Yosemite's El Capitan, faced challenges with the building's middle section, which consists of 64 floors with steep overhangs.
