The exact prompt I use to make ChatGPT stop sounding like ChatGPT
Okay, sharing this because it actually seems to work.
Instead of asking ChatGPT to "sound human," I give it specific anti-patterns to avoid:
Write [content type] with these constraints:
- No sentences starting with "In today's" or "In the world of"
- Zero usage of: delve, crucial, landscape, leverage, robust, streamline
- Vary sentence length between 4-25 words
- Include at least one incomplete sentence or fragment
- Add one rhetorical question
- Use first person where appropriate
- No more than two sentences can start with the same word in any paragraph
The key is being SPECIFIC about what you don't want. "Sound natural" means nothing to an AI. "Don't use the word 'crucial'" is actionable.
Drop your favorite anti-pattern constraints below :-) let's build a master list.
