UK offshore wind prices come in 40% cheaper than gas in record auction | Electrek

The UK’s latest offshore wind auction, AR7, awarded 8.4 GW of capacity at prices significantly lower than gas and nuclear, saving consumers nearly £1.7 billion annually. The auction, the largest in Europe, saw average strike prices of £91.20/MWh in England and Wales and £89.49/MWh in Scotland, which is 40% cheaper than gas and nearly 30% cheaper than nuclear.
