Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, a long-discussed concept, was confirmed in 2023, aiming at a younger audience. The idea dates back to 1968, with plans evolving over decades, including potential film and series formats.
I've never personally been as pumped for the idea of a Starfleet Academy series as many others seem to be – especially if it's going to have all the hallmarks of a 'Young Adult' show – but hey, as long as there's Trek on TV, I'll be rooting for its success. Especially if it introduces new fans to the franchise, which of course is a big part of why they've gone for the YA audience with this one!
