Marty Reisman, a 75-year-old New York City ping-pong hustler, is renowned for his legendary forehand and unmatched wit. Despite disagreements with the table tennis establishment, he has won 22 international and national championships, including the U.S. Open twice and the British Open.
With Josh Safdie‘s new movie (https://a24films.com/films/marty-supreme) out in a couple days, it’s interesting to know the title character was based on a real person.
Sharing this 20 year old piece since his 1974 autobiography, “The Money Player,” is currently out of print.
