'One Battle After Another' further solidified Paul Thomas Anderson as my favorite director of all time. Who are yours?

PTA has been my favorite director for a long time and I'm glad that OBAA is getting so much high praise from critics and audiences, I think this may be the film that finally wins him an Oscar. I could write endlessly about why I love his films so much, but I'll boil it down to one main point: His ability to portray the experience of living in America or being an American on film is unmatched. Who are your favorite directors?
