Ballantine Communications scammed out of more than $267,000 - The Durango Herald

More than $276,000 was fraudulently transferred from Ballantine Communications, Inc's bank account by a suspect posing as an Alpine Bank representative. The Durango Police Department is investigating the incident, which did not impact employee paychecks or company operations. Alpine Bank's fraud unit and local bank officers are also involved in the investigation, which may be escalated to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
