30 minutes into Digg I discover canon explainer of ChatGPT
Had no idea that an expert on LLMs gives a one-stop lecture explaining what they are, where they came from and how to use it. The guy’s name is Andrej Karpathy and his video is here:
This video provides a comprehensive deep dive into Large Language Models (LLMs) like those powering ChatGPT, covering their training stack, psychology, and practical applications. Presented by Andrej Karpathy, a former member of OpenAI and Tesla's AI team, the video aims to enhance understanding of AI advancements and their effective use. It includes detailed chapters on topics such as pretraining data, neural network internals, and reinforcement learning.
After hundreds of hours wasted on other socials suggesting more opinions I already agreed with, the serendipity of Digg’s suggestion model (whatever it is) introduced me to a resource that actually looks useful. At 3.5 hours I’ll have to digest it in chunks, but I’m looking forward to more useful finds as Digg gets going.
