Can't claim /russia: "Slug already taken"

I administer /rus, a community with an alternative name to serve the same purpose - discussion of Russia. Though the community isn't doing well as I can imagine there not being many Russian people on Digg yet, I have noticed that around three other people have had the same issue as me: /russian, /russiancommunity, /russianfederation.

The community needs to have a name adequate to the subject to unify discussion. People are creating various Russia communities because they cannot join a central community on Russia, as the name is either reserved or filtered.

Can we claim /russia?
