Suggestions for Building a Healthier Digg Community

Hey Digg team, I've been doing my best to enjoy testing out this beta and I appreciate how responsive you've been so far. It's clear you're putting real effort into building something new. That said, I've noticed the platform filling up with some truly toxic responses. This has increased in the time between invites opening and now. You're aware of what I'm talking about. Stuff like celebrating violence or snarky comments dancing around it. What's standing out even more is the significant imbalance in users and opinions right now. It seems like one side of the political spectrum is dominating the conversations, which is skewing threads toward echo chambers and pushing out diverse viewpoints. This isn't just about isolated bad apples; it's creating an environment where negativity thrives unchecked and drives away folks who want more balanced, healthier discussions. I get that moderating a growing community is tough, especially in beta. This kind of lopsided vibe turns off potential users long-term. I'd love to see you guys think hard about the kind of space you want to foster going forward. Maybe tighter guidelines on hate or incitement, features that promote more balanced threads, or even ways to encourage a broader mix of perspectives. Thanks for listening. I'm hoping this helps shape things for the better. I look forward to the replies in this thread with the snark I'm discussing and talking about. Maybe including this last couple of sentences will give pause for some sort level of self-awareness in the replies.
