What's different architechturally between digg and Reddit?
Looks like a Reddit clone with all the potential to carry most of Reddit's worst problems. We need to get away from user-managed communities. No powermods who can decide who is allowed to post. Replace communities with hashtags so that no one can be denied access to any discussions. Instead of mods, have content curators who you can subscribe to. That's basically what communities are anyway if you think about it. You join a community to subscribe to a group of mods' personal content preferences (ie, you see what they want you to see). Ditch communities and mods and go with content curation. Also, no blocking. Mutes only. I should be able to reply to anyone's post or comment that I want.
