Digg app (iOS) locking up when returning to app after short time

After a period of about 5-10 minutes when returning to the Digg app on iOS (up to date, iPhone 17 pro max), the app locks up and is unusable. Waiting does not seem to help (waiting for app up to 30 seconds or a minute.)

Manually closing app and re-opening is the only way to bypass.
