Digg Beta FAQ
Hey all,
Sharing a quick FAQ with everyone. Things will change as we keep improving and iterating on Digg, but these are the most frequently asked questions right now:
How can I create a community?
It is not yet possible to create your own community. We are actively building the features users will need to create and manage their own communities, so you will be able to create and join custom communities before too long.
Where can I see all the communities?
Go here on desktop or tap the search icon in the app.
Can I disable the TL;DR?
Not currently, but we will be adding the option to disable it down the line.
Can I change my username?
It is not possible to change your username, but we are making exceptions during the Beta. You can send an email to help@digg.com with the username you want, plus a backup in case your first choice is taken, and we will update it for you.
Can I edit my posts and comments?
Not yet, but we would like to enable users to edit both in the future.
Why are the notifications not taking me to my comment?
This is a known limitation. We have comment improvements in the works.
Can you improve the way multiple comments are seen under a thread?
We have comment improvements in the works and will be increasing the depth.
Can I block or mute keywords or topics?
Not currently, but we intend to enable users to filter their feeds in the future.
Can you add keyboard shortcuts, more swipe gestures, or the ability to collapse images?
We will consider adding these quality-of-life improvements down the line.
How is moderation done, and what can I do to flag something?
Most moderation right now happens through content flagged by Maude, which we actively review. If you click on the three dots, you can report a post or a comment for us to review. All content must abide by our Rules.
Can I use the mobile browser?
We are currently focused on the mobile apps and desktop. We will optimize for the mobile browser experience down the line.
What is the difference between Trending and Heating Up?
Trending updates hourly and looks at a longer time window. It highlights posts that keep building steady momentum over time and uses slower decay so content with lasting engagement stays visible.
Heating Up refreshes more often. It surfaces posts that are gaining traction fast and applies faster decay to keep the feed full of what is rising right now.
We will continue to iterate on these throughout the beta and beyond.
Where can I provide feedback?
You can leave a post in /digg. On mobile, click on the menu in the top left and choose Support. On desktop, click on your profile and choose Support or Give Feedback. You can also email help@digg.com and a real human will reply!
