Sloan Lake Restoration
Sloan’s Lake, Denver’s largest body of water, faces significant challenges due to sediment buildup and rising temperatures, exacerbated by climate change and development. The lake, once reaching depths of over 10 feet, now averages just 3.5 feet, leading to toxic algae blooms and fish kills. A $5 million bond approved by voters aims to improve the lake’s environmental health, but experts argue more drastic measures, like dredging, are necessary to restore its depth and prevent further degradation.
Hope their able to get the work done on it and hopefully put in some mitigation to prevent future issues
