How did you land your first gig in Cyber Security?
Anyone here have any recommendations on landing a first job in cyber security without a bachelor's degree? I'm wanting to switch career paths, and I have a ton of professional experience in the public sector/government, but skills that don't necessarily "translate" directly to Cyber Security. Many of my friends who DO have computer-centric college degrees say I know more / have more real world experience than they do, but whenever I apply for a position, I don't make it to the interview stage. I self-host my own services, set up my own VLANs with network segregation/domains/authentication, experience with Docker/Linux and Windows Server, have testified in court numerous times on tech related issues, etc.
How did you get your foot in the door for Cyber Security?
