What’s something you learned about yourself in a really trying time of life?
I think it could feel nice to hear others share with vulnerability about something they realized about themselves. Maybe something you were wrong about or a way you acknowledged a shortcoming and committed to being better.
Finally admitting to past traumas and committing to healing from them made me realize how indirectly I passed along my hurt by being emotionally distant and unavailable in younger romantic relationships. Not worth going back and asking forgiveness. I’m glad I didn’t hurt others in the way I was hurt, but I look back on my younger self and feel for him. He was sad, scared and lost and in place of coping tools I just built complex facades. Still on the journey. But happy my ego is quieter these days.
