Course Overview + Introduction to the Shell · Missing Semester

This MIT IAP class, co-taught by former MIT students, aims to teach students how to make the most of the tools they know, introduce new tools, and instill excitement for exploring and building more tools. The class consists of nine 1-hour lectures with accompanying exercises, and all materials are freely available online. The first lecture introduces the shell, a textual interface that allows users to run programs, give them input, and inspect their output, and explains how to open a shell prompt on different platforms.
