Bible App Verse of the Day and my Take

The Verse of the Day is Proverbs 22:4. ““True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.” (NLT)

This is an amazing verse, but we need to be careful not to take it out of context or misapply it. Just because you are humble and fear God (fear means great respect in this context), does not mean you will automatically become rich or live a perfect life.

Take missionaries for example: They follow God’s calling to minister to people all around the planet. They’re not rich, and sometimes they’re in danger. But they know their true riches and honor will come in heaven.

We should take this as a reminder to store up treasures in heaven, not here on earth.
