Canada remains committed to diversifying its trade away from the US, despite threats from the Trump administration, according to Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand. Canada has no plans to negotiate a free trade deal with China, but is focused on doubling its non-US exports within 10 years. Energy Minister Tim Hodgson is heading to India to discuss potential deals on critical minerals, uranium, and liquefied natural gas. Despite tensions over tariffs, the US and Canada maintain a strong bilateral trade relationship, with the US exporting about $280 billion of goods to Canada in the first 10 months of last year, and importing $322 billion from Canada.
