Calgary cafe forced to move due to Bearspaw feeder main replacement project
Angel’s Cafe, which has been in business along the north side of the Bow River at Edworthy Park for 28 years, received notice from city officials Friday it must move within 30 days to make way for the project.
A longstanding Calgary cafe, Angel's Cafe, has been forced to relocate within 30 days to make way for the Bearspaw feeder main replacement project, which is being expedited due to concerns over the existing pipe's reliability. The city aims to complete the project by December, with the first phase involving microtunnelling from the Shaganappi Pump Station to 73 Street N.W. The owner, Cathy Jacobs, expressed shock and distress over the sudden notice, fearing for the livelihood of her staff and the cafe's community role.
