Archaeologists have discovered a hand stencil painted with ochre in a limestone cave on Muna Island in Indonesia, which they believe to be the world’s oldest known rock art, dating back at least 67,800 years. The discovery provides insights into the settlement of Australia and the migration of humans from Southeast Asia to Sahul.
