Hobby or tool?

I was talking to my wife and came to the conclusion that I’m someone who’s hobby is 3d printing rather then 3d printing being a tool for my hobby. In this case my hobby of 3d printing supports her hobby of playing TTRPGs by me making miniatures. So my question, is 3d printing you

STEP files in Ultimaker Cura (Ever?)

Does anyone know if there are plans on the Ultimaker Cura roadmap to allow the printing of step files? I've enjoyed using the program, but if step files are off the table indefinitely, I'll stopping wasting time and start learning to use PrusaSlicer immediately. Thanks!

I made these 3D printed gift bows a couple days back that are pretty darn cool

They're kinda fussy to assemble, but once you get the settings dialed in, they print pretty well and are pretty durable once assembled. Model is from bovineblitz on makerworld with a few tweaks to settings and resized the assembly pins a bit.

Upgrade? or Buy new?

I have a mostly stock Ender 3v2 from pandemic times and I'm wondering if it would make more sense financially to just buy something new or perform some extra modifications to speed up my print times. I did some DIY direct drive upgrades with the stock parts but asides from update
